IAN CAREY has been a designer and illustrator for over 15 years. From 2001–2014 he led the Design and Illustration team of WestEd's educational assessment division, where he developed graphics, publications and animations for over a dozen state assessments and consortia. His freelance work has been especially focused on design for musicians; he is also an accomplished jazz trumpeter.
